I had an internship interview today for a teaching position in Alpine school district. After the interview I felt good, but was quite nervous as I waited to hear back from them. Curtis and I decided to go to a movie to pass the time, but I kept my phone in my lap the whole time, just incase they decided to call. After the movie they still hadn't called so we kept on running our errands for the day. We had to go to the distribution center and while we were there my phone started buzzing. I was SO extremely nervous to answer but as soon as I heard, "hello this is so and so from Geneva elementary" I was relieved, I knew I got the job! So starting soon, i'll begin preparing to teach 6th grade (AHHH!!!) at Geneva Elementary school in Orem, UT. This will be really awesome, since that is where I went to school growing up, although I think it might be a little weird to be teaching with people who taught me. . . . We'll see how it all works out.
I'm so glad that i'll be driving 15 minutes to school and not 45 (like i've been doing the past month for my cohort experience). I can't wait to get started on working out all the details and seeing what my future in teaching will be like.
Here's a pic of my "fine" lucky outfit that got me the job! I look like a real professional!
